my sister took a picture of three of the stained glass panels that I made for her. some of my early work and the one in the middle is my last as she wanted red and yellow (for some reason).

...boring, but keeps the neighbors out of the picture.

Yes. The bevels were not cut by me although I cut the side bevel triangles on the center piece - not likely to do THAT again though. What a pita. Smile

Do you do glass work O2? I know Yia yia has.

Good Grief girl! That doesn't belong in Hobbies! lol! What humbling and amazingly monumental work!

The artist that I buy some of my glass from has several works in museums - I try hard not to be intimidated into seeing that I won't ever see that level of work. But I do enjoy it and have invested in some of the better tools and equipment as I progress.

Do you have some pics of your own pieces? I do love the drawings that you have posted.

I have DONE class work - I am not a glass artisan like yourself~
That means - I watched Margaret conceptualize, thumbnail, design and execute patterns.

I cut glass to the patterns, foiled, treated the foil, and saudered to her bidding (she was VERY particular about the saudering) ...

The most important thing in the journey of an artist - is to NOT be intimidated. Inspired - yes. Challenged to step up - yes....

It's an amazing and frustrating challenge to NOT compare your work -
and it's a razor's edge to walk in terms of "not comparing your work" and yet being humble enough to learn from others.... does that make sense?

Your levels of work is going to be different than any one elses levels of work.

PROCESS!

... and your work is beautiful.

Thanks for the nice words guys. It means a lot to me.

Even at the beginning I would never take a pattern and use it totally - I always changed it. Now I just create my patterns from scratch and clean them up on the computer.

That is probably why I go so crazy insane - not using established patterns - ungh! That gives me free reign to change things mid-stream (which I do- which takes me forever to then sometimes take apart/recut new glass/re-solder etc.) Don't even get me started on the leaded came pieces.

Shocked Very Happy

Hobbies are supposed to be relaxing, eh? Wink Very Happy

yeah... just like working on cars... relaxing has nothing to do with it while you're working on it... it's the driving it later that supposed to be the relaxing reward. Very Happy
